Bob Nichols Jr. – Missionary to Brazil

Bob Nichols Jr. is a Missionary to Brazil will be in our services this Sunday Evening at 5:00PM. Please plan on attending, you will not want to miss!

Sunday, January 17th @ 5:00PM

I was born into a Christian family and trusted Christ as my Savior at the age of 5.  Soon after I got saved, God called my parents, Bob and Naomi Nichols, to Brazil as missionaries.  While we were on deputation, God began burdening my heart for missions and I felt very definitely that He wanted me to be a missionary.  When I was 6 years old I responded to the invitation during a missions conference at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA and surrendered my life to be a missionary.  I went with my parents to Brazil when I was 8 years old and had the privilege of growing up on the mission field working with my dad in every capacity of missionary work.  God used that to confirm in my heart that He wanted me serving in the country of Brazil.  I went to Bible college at Southeastern Fundamental Baptist College, a ministry of my home church, Madison Baptist Church in Madison, AL ( and graduated with a degree in Bible.

My wife, Iara, is a product of missions.  She is Brazilian and was saved through my dad’s ministry in the city of Formiga, Minas Gerais, Brazil at the age of 18.  She graduated from our Bible Institute in Brazil and God burdened her heart for missions as well. We have four children, Bobby (age 13), Megan (age 11), Daniel and David (both 10).

We are sent out through Madison Baptist Church World Missions and have served one term as missionaries in Brazil.  During this term we worked mostly in the city of Arcos in the state of Minas Gerais helping establish an infant church plant started by my brother a few years earlier.  We were able to organize the church in 2012 and see the church more than double in size.  Our co-workers, Tim and Ingrid Ingram, also missionaries out of our home church, are continuing the work in our absence.

Our plans upon returning to the field are to start a work in the state of Espírito Santo, a small state in the Southeast region of Brazil with less than 4 million people.  There are 78 cities and towns in that state with no Fundamental works and no true gospel witness of any kind! We are asking the Lord for direction as to what city to go to. Our burden is to plant Independent, Fundamental, Baptist Churches with a burden to reach Brazil and the world for Christ, that will continue to multiply themselves when we move on to repeat the process.
