  • We all have been around them
    • • The Johhny Raincloud
    • The glass is half empty
    • The Debbie Downer’s of life
  • You could be going along as positive as can be and then all of a sudden, two seconds talking to them life is just horrible
    • We all have been in them
    • In situations that don’t appear to be too positive
    • In circumstances where the negative is just consuming
    • Find yourself changing
    • Countenance changes
    • Face changes
    • Where there is a glowing smile
    • There is just a glare
    • Where the eyes were bright, they are now dim
  • People today say that COVID is the most highly transmissible virus of our time.
    • Our mayor said he got it from a 15 minute car ride with his son
    • Not sure if that is true, but others have said I was only around the person a few minutes
    • And now I have covid
    • Let me tell you tonight, that negative attitudes are far more transferable, far more transmissible than COVID.
    • You can be around a negative person for 10 seconds and find yourself being negative
    • You can be in a negative situation and find yourself being negative just like that.
    • And like a cancer, it is not content being around for a little while, negative attitudes want to corrupt everything
    • Every conversation
    • Every circumstance
    • That want to consume you and have you be their host to infect someone else.
    • If you do not guard yourself against negativity you will be dominated by it in 2022.

  • Stay close to God
    • • Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
    • There is no joy in negativity
      • There is no pleasures in negativity
      • But in His presence is
        • Fulness of joy
        • Continual pleasures
      • Means through Him and having closeness with Him
      • Fills you up
        • Hey, I have no room right now for that negative talk, too full of joy right now to hear that mess
        • Hey, I know this circumstance is tough, but you know what I find pleasure in Him
      • Telling you this right now from experience, the further you are away from God, the more negative your life will be
        • Every conversation prone to turn to the negative
        • Every situation prone to turn to doom and gloom
      • But someone that is walking with God
        • No room in the inn for that negativity
        • Full of joy
        • Full of pleasure
  • Stay close to the positive
    • Jesus, obliviously
    • Positive people
    • Proverbs 15:30 – The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: And a good report maketh the bones fat.
    • Seeing positivity lifts you up, strengthens you
    • Seeing negativity, weakens.
    • Step into a room or maybe around co-workers complaining about everything
      • That rubs off, soon you find yourself complaining about everything
      • Parents, be negative in from of your children, watch it, those kids are just mini-yous.
      • What do you think they are going to grow up and be prone to be, negative.
      • When you have that negative thought
      • 2 cor 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
      • Bring it into captivity.
• Conclusion
  • Bible says
    • Genesis 1:27 “27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
    • Gal 2:20 “20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
  • His image and His person are not characterized by anger and negativity
  • His image and His person are peace and joy
  • You have to set out and determine in your heart to not let anger and negativity dominate you
  • You do this by staying close to God
  • You do this by staying close to the positive
  • You do that, you will be too full for foolishness.
